Wedding in Lawrenceville, GA

So awhile ago, my wife's best friend found out she was having a baby (Yeah, Rhonda and Scott). Turns out that Rhonda is a wedding photographer just outside of Atlanta and had booked a wedding in September. Well, being a wedding photographer and 6 months pregnant is not an easy thing to do. So, she had seen some of my work and asked if I would help her out. No problem, my wife said. Well, I said it too.... but she was just as excited to be able to make it up to see her friend... and her "belly"!!

Of course, we have a 10.5 month old and were a little nervous about how we were going to make the trip. We choose driving (the obvious choice) and decided to pack up the car at 3am and start the 7 hour trip. Well, we didnt leave until 4am (it is so hard to get out of bed sometimes!!) and Zach only slept for 3 hours. However, I was so proud of him, he just sat in that seat and checked out the scenery and watched his DVDs. No complaints.... The ride home we left at 9pm and he slept off and on all the way home. He did wake up to the flashing red and blue lights when I got pulled over for speeding... but thats another story.

Oh, I almost forgot. Zach started walking (assisted) when we got up there! You got to admit... he is so darn cute (just ignore my foot in the bottom left corner).

Walking the Train 2

All in all, we had a great visit and I got to work with yet another amazing photographer. Here are some of my favorite wedding shots from the evening...

Kenitzer Wedding

This weekend I was invited to a wedding for a co-worker from my day job. It was in a place I had never heard of nor seen, Rachel d. Murrah Civic Center in Winter Park. I have to tell you that this place was gorgeous. An outdoor wedding under the canopy of enormous oak trees and an indoor reception with wood paneled 30 foot vaulted ceilings. You would have to see it to believe it as the website doesn't do it justice, at all.

I have written before about being a 'photographer' versus a 'dad' (or in this case a husband) and it was fresh on my mind all night. I wanted nothing more than to photograph every moment but I had to remind myself that I was a guest. After all, they had hired a photographer... and I didnt want to get in his way. So, I allowed myself one lens and a flash and decided that I would not get too carried away. At the end of the night, I didn't do to bad and even got to dance with my wife.... and that my friends is a good thing....

Hope you enjoy some of my shots....
